TASK DESCRIPTION: You have received one return ticket to one overseas destination with $8000 AUS. Research, plan you trip and produce a powerpoint on your destination city.

RESEARCH PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

1. What country will you arrive in?

2. What season will it be?

3. What is the currency of the country?

4. What is the exchange rate for the Australian dollar?

5. What is the population of the city?

6. Locate a map of the city (to be put in your powerpoint).

POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

1. A title slide - name of your destination, some pictures.

2. One slide - a map of the city/town you are visiting.

3. One slide - the cost of the airfare there and airport taxes (any stopovers?)

4. One slide - special visa for this country? How much? Does the city have an Australian Embassy? Are there any travel warnings for the city/country you are visiting?

5. One to two slides - what is the climate at this time? (Pictures) Clothing - what have you packed to wear/take?

6. One to two slides - picture of your hotel, the rooms, pool, etc. Are you sharing a room or alone? Room rates for your room at this time?

7. One slide - what language will the locals speak? (Now find out how to say hello and goodbye in your adopted language!)

8. One to three slides - meals, cafes, restaurants - where and what will you eat? What are some of the local delicacies or famous dishes?

9. One to three slides - show where you will visit as an interesting itinerary, eg: beaches, castles, museums, theme parks, etc.
