Subject: Spiderwick Chronicles The Field Guide

The story starts when the Grace family move into a house with their Mum, after their Mum and Dad got divorced. Simon and mallory have settled in the house very easily, but Jared is having a lot of trouble. Simon is Jared's twin, he likes taking care of animals and can't wait until he gets more pets. Mallory is Simon and Jared's older sister, she is in to sword fencing. Living in the house they realise there is someone or something living in the house with them. The children wanted to examine the house so they sent Jared up in a dumbwaiter and then Jared found a secret room. he thought there must be a door to get in and out of the room but he doesn't find one. The room was filled with strange things like strange books, A History of Scottish Dwarves, A Compendium of Brownie visitations from around the world, and so on. He heard something moving whilst he was looking at the strange thing.
Soon he found a riddle sitting on the desk in the middle of the room it said, "In a man's torso you will find my secret to all mankind. If false and true can be the same, you will soon know of my fame up and up and up again. Goodluck dear friend".
Solving a puzzle to the riddle he found a field guide in the attic. After reading the book he finds out what is in his house and much more.
My favourite character in the story was Jared because he was wanting to explore places new.

Subject: Douglas Bader

Captain Douglas Bader (World War II fighter pilot). Bader was trying to figure out what to do when he was older so he remembered the time when he was about 12 ydears old when he was with his Aunt and Uncle at the RAF College at Cranwell (England) 1922. The saying that will stay with you is I crashed more times on the motorbike than in the plan. Bader started off in the single seater plane most people started off in the two seater models then progressed to the single seater plane. I want you to red the rest of the book in the Boys book of the air.

Written by Douglas Bader himself.

Subject: The Shadow World by Jane Johnson

I liked the end of the novel because Ben, the Prince of the Secret Country, named a giant Octopus. He named it Nemiss. The Dobberman is an eight foot tall man with a dog head. He is an evil man who is trying to take over the secret country. The secret country is like a shadow to our world. A magic place, where sprites fly and dragons roam. Like Zark, a goldy orange colour. Zark has purple eyes. All the creatures from the wild wood helped Ben and Ellie (Ben's little sister and princess over the secret country) and their Mum (the rightful queen of the secret country). Now the Dobberman is so angry because no one is scared him anymore.

Subject: Deltora Quest 1 The Forest of Silence

It starts with two kids Jarred and Endon. They live in the palace A few years later Endon's Dad dies and he must become King. Some people think he's too young. The ceremony starts and Endon must put on the bell of Detora. It has the seven trible gems on it. The diamond, the opal, the ruby, the lapaz Larzluli the heavenly stone, the topaz, the amethest and the emerald and also colours, silver, white, red, blue, orange, purple and green. When the service is over Jarred thought that he should wear it all the time.
He goes to the library and sits up all night reading the Deltora. When he goes to show Endon that he should always wear the belt Prandine, Endon's advisor jumps in front of the kind and lies that he has a knife. So Jarred runs through the castle and climbs their favourite tree. He leaves a message or code for Endon incase he was ever in trouble. He then jumps into a food cart that was taking the scraps from the palace to the city. It was a long and bumpy ride but finally they get there.
Straight away the sheet opened and hundreds of people scrambled for the scraps, Jarred could not believe his eyes. He walks all night before he stops at a forge. They let him stay but he has to work to keep his keep. Years later Jarred marries Anna, the girl in the forge. Years after that it was almost dawn but Jarred could not sleep. He opens the window and creatures called ak-barbers are flying over. Jarred realises something. The shadow lord owned seven of them. Anna, his wife, was pregnant with their child. Then in the distance a golden arrow was in their favourite tree. So they go to the front of the castle but Jarred did not know how to get in. There on the ground was a wooden arrow with a little rhyme that went like this, "wake the bear, not fear scurry mouse, into your house. Lift the lid, be glad you did".
Jarred works out the riddle and finds Endon and Queens Sharn, who is expecting a baby too. They hurry up to the top of the tower but the belt is broken and gems are missing. Prandine is at the top of tower laughing that the shadow Lord has conquered Deltora. Endon, Sharn and their unexpected child has to feed, that's when an injured guard called, Bard, comes out of the woods. First his father struck him down but when he came to he was cared for.
A few years later it was Jarred's son's 12th birthday and when he gets home from the market he discovers he must do something very important. He must find the seven lost gems of Deltora. He must go to the Valley of the Lost, Maze of the Beast, The Shifting Sands, The City of the Rats, The Lake of Tears, Dread Mountain and The Mountain of Silence. Leif did not like the sound of the last one. The beggar, Badar, joins him when they are almost near the forest. They get attacked by a wild girl called Jasmine. Later on they have to defeat a knight called Gorl.
In the end they defeat the knight. Jasmine's Mum says for Jasmine to join Leif and Barba. My favourite character was Leif.

My favourite character is the monster because it is so calm and sweet. It reminds me of my cat, Jemma. If I were to find him I would nurse him back to health.
